Found Dead: German-Israeli Tattoo Artist Kidnapped by Hamas
Captive’s Body Discovered After Parade in Gaza
Forensic Experts Confirm Identity of 23-Year-Old Woman
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the tragic discovery of the body of 23-year-old German-Israeli Shani Louk, who was captured and paraded through the streets of Gaza by Hamas militants.
Forensic examiners have confirmed Louk's identity after a lengthy search operation. Her body was found in a tunnel in the Gaza Strip, along with the bodies of two other hostages.
Louk was initially believed to have been kidnapped alive during the Hamas assault on a music festival in Reim on October 7th. Video footage released at the time showed her being taken into custody by Hamas militants.
The Israeli military has condemned Hamas for its actions, stating that the group’s treatment of Louk was “barbaric and inhumane.” International leaders have also expressed outrage over the incident.
Louk’s family has been notified of her death and is said to be heartbroken. Her father, Mark Louk, expressed his sorrow and disbelief in a statement, saying, “We are devastated by the news of our daughter’s death. We can only hope that justice will be served and that those responsible for her murder will be brought to account.”
