An Italian court has reconvicted Amanda Knox of slander, years after she was acquitted of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher.
Knox was originally convicted of murder in 2009, but that conviction was overturned on appeal in 2011. However, she was also convicted of slander in 2013 for falsely accusing a Congolese man, Patrick Lumumba, of killing Kercher.
The latest conviction comes as part of a retrial that was ordered by Italy's highest court. Knox is not expected to be extradited to Italy to serve any sentence, as she is now a U.S. citizen and the United States does not extradite its citizens to foreign countries.
