Spied: Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 Coupe Testing with V8 Hybrid
Another High-Performance Coupe in the Works
Mercedes-AMG is once again testing a new high-performance coupe, likely the CLE 63. Although the German firm has not officially confirmed it yet, the speculation is strong. The upcoming Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 is expected to receive a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine developing up to 577 horsepower.
This marks a departure from the current CLE 53's six-cylinder engine and is part of Mercedes-AMG's strategy to electrify its lineup. The V8 will be paired with a mild hybrid system, providing additional power and efficiency. The first-ever Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 is expected to launch in North America sometime next year as a 2025 model.
Mercedes reportedly believes the six-cylinder engine in the AMG CLE 53 helps justify putting a V8 in the AMG CLE 63. The V8 is expected to give the CLE 63 a significant performance advantage over its six-cylinder sibling. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch date.
